Rev3 Quassy Triathlon – 2018 Team RTA triathlon club continued their 2018 season with a Team Race at Rev3 Quassy in Connecticut, which is a short drive from Bergen County, NJ. 2018 marked the 10th running of the Rev3 Quassy Triathlon located in Middlebury, CT. Rev3 Quassy attracts nearly 2,000 triathletes annually from all over the country. The event offers an olympic and half distance race along with an aquabike and relay. Rev3, the race organization, does an incredible job of putting on a world class event with the athletes as the #1 priority. It’s no wonder the race has been going on for 10 years. For the 7th year in a row, Team RTA triathlon club took on the challenging (but doable) course fondly referred to as “The Beast of the Northeast.” Quassy is the perfect early season race to measure fitness and help prepare for races later in the season. Many athletes use this race for a late season half like TOUGHMAN or full triathlon like IRONMAN Lake Placid RTA Team Race We had a fun pre race team dinner with family and friends at a local restaurant which helped ease the pre race anxiety.
Race day was absolutely perfect. The temperature was just right and the sun didn’t poke out until later in the day. This allowed for some great racing. One of the great things about Rev3 is they allow Team RTA to bring our trailer and set up our team tents. Setting up along the finish chute allows for an ideal post race hangout and celebration. We’re in the perfect place to cheer on fellow teammates and other competitors as they finish their race. Another nice thing that Rev3 does is provide clubs like RTA who bring a bunch of athletes with their own porta john and co-branded race hats. It’s a pretty sweet perk! Once again, Rev3 Quassy did NOT disappoint. Everyone from Team RTA did great and we all had a BLAST! Comments are closed.
